Hondata KPro PPA/PPL ECU Bracket

*The ECU itself is not included with this product.

The Hondata KPro ECU is one of the most popular aftermarket ECUs on the market however the mounting points vary widely because there are quite a few different donor ECUs that can be used and each one comes from a specific Honda chassis.

If you are the (unlucky) owner of a Hondata using a donor PPA or PPL Honda ECU then you are going to have a difficult time mounting your ECU unless your are installing it back into a second-gen Honda CRV (the original car these ECUs came out of).  The PPA/PPL ECU and it's three mounting points look like this:

The first couple of times that we used this ECU for K-swap customer projects here at the shop we cut off all the mounting tabs and fabricated a strap and mounting plate.  By the third time we ran into this ECU we knew that we needed to create a more robust solution that we could re-use at the shop.  We also figured that if we were running into this problem mounting the ECU then there were probably other customers out there who had the same issue and might be in need of the solution...

Here is the mounting that bracket that we've created:

The bracket has a ton of different mounting holes that can be used to secure the bracket.  While it is a slightly taller and wider in rectangular footprint (~8 in x 7.75 in) the bracket was designed so that the ECU can be attached first and then mounted together.  This also allows the flexibility of removing just the ECU or the bracket and the ECU together.

Installation Instructions

Approx. assembly time: 2 minutes

1. Insert the attachment arm piece (diamond-side down) into the slot on the mounting bracket.  You will know the arm is all the way into the slot when the diamonds on the slot and the arm line up.

2.  Insert the locking pin into the diamond opening in the slot, pushing it all the way through until both sides are flush with the slot walls.

   2. Note that we have included an extra locking pin with your bracket in case you mislocate the first.
3. Attach the PPA/PPL ECU to the bracket using three of the supplied bolts and nuts.

4. Mount the bracket to the desired surface using the remaining supply of bolts and nuts.
